Sarcasm and other Witty Remarks
Envy Me:
What about me? Well, I am a glitter/anything shimmering whore. Do not ask me why, I just like shiny, sparkling things. A self professed observant with an eagle's eye for beauty and of course of the nasty kind. I also spit venom. You'll be suprised how heavy my bag is. I love cakes and ice cream. Either you love or hate me. Do not get in between me and my jackets and coats. And makeup. Make-up junkie. Multi-tasking; able to talk to callers and put on my make-up.

I seriously want one. As in. I am having dreams about it, hallucinating about it. It is good for my carbon foot-print because I wouldn't be buying all my magazines each month, thus saving paper... right?

But I like the black one better. Syet, go to buy the cover and of course a bluetooth headphones for it. And imagine how shusyal when I'm browsing online magazine subscriptions... taray right? So chic! I need to buy one!

Something Borrowed
Tuesday, May 17, 2011 3:54 AM
I finally watched the movie "Something Borrowed". It is aromantic comedy film based on Emily Giffin's book of the same name, directed by Luke Greenfield, and starring Ginnifer Goodwin, Kate Hudson, Colin Egglesfield and John Krasinski.

Rachel White (Ginnifer Goodwin) is a single, talented attorney working in a New York law firm. After too many drinks on her 30th birthday, Rachel grabs a cab with Dex (Colin Egglesfield) and playfully reveals she has had a crush on him since law school.

The problem is, Dex is also her best friend Darcy's (Kate Hudson) fiancé. They wake up in bed together the next morning to Darcy calling both of their phones. Dex sneaks out and they do not have time to speak about what happened between them. What Rachel thinks is a one night stand, is actually the beginning of an emotional roller coaster once Dex tells Rachel he is in love with her too.

Ethan (John Krasinski) has been friends with Darcy & Rachel since childhood. He is the only one who knows what has happened between Rachel & Dex, which he has vowed to keep secret. And here where the complications begin...

I swear I never have cried inside again while watching a movie. I was so engrossed in the movie! I was crying, swearing, talking to myself and laughing... like a crazy person! Some of the lessons here in this movie:

  • go and get what you want (without stepping anyone on the process)
  • value your friendship/s
  • be honest with yourself
  • got to love yourself

I swear you have to watch this movie! Highly recommended!

What's Inside My Kikay Kit
Sunday, May 8, 2011 2:59 AM
To start of first, I am proud of my kikay kit. It slowly turned from just a small space to my bag and slowly grew to the point I needed a kit for all my makeup. So here is a list of what you can currently find inside my kikay kit. Well go too it one by one...

1. MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC40

So far I'm quite happy with how MAC stays put on my face, needs only a few retouches and covers well.

2. L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base

I do not know what would be my reaction to this product when I first read it in a magazine. But it got rave reviews so I asked my aunt to send me one because it was not still available here. So when I first tried it, I didn't quite like it... it was hard to blend. Compared to other bases it have used in the past like Smashbox Primer and the last one I used was Stila Hydrating Primer which both a very easy to blend considering both are gel-like/liquid types.

But then I noticed in the office that the makeup really stayed longer on my face. Just a few retouches of loose powder and you are good to go again! So I became a believer. Amen to that!

3. Nars The Multiple in Maui/Portofino

This is so far the MOST EXPENSIVE SINGLE PRODUCT I bought in my kikay kit. Believe me. But every penny spent was worth it. I prefer cream type or in this case stick type blush because for me they look more natural, very blend-able and I find it very hard to make you piled tons of blush and have overdone it.

Maui is the first one I bought and it if you checked it on the website it would tell you that it is a dusty rose color while Portofino is shimmering coral. Maui for me is more redder, the closest color when my cheecks blush and Portifino is more like a orangey/bronze color.

4. Burt's Bee Rejuvenating Lip Balm with Acai Berry

I have to admit my puckers are quite big, and given I'm always inside the office talking in sometimes sub-artic temperatures... in short I always have chapped lips. It smells like bubblegum (now I know what Acai berry smells like) which is wonderful. Great on moisturizing my lips.

5. Clinique Hgh Impact Mascara

If I feel want to amp up my look or just want to look my best I put this mascara on. I love the Clinique mascara because my aunt always send me travel sizes which is a lifesaver, takes up less space and does not easily clumps and flakes. Gives excellent definition to my lashes.

6. Clinique Color Surge Eyeshadow in Spicy

I'm a fan of the no-makeup look and when I saw the videos and articles online, I knew I have to put a little bit of color on my lids. This by so far is the most natural-looking eye shadow I have used. And it is not shimmery like other eyeshadows.

I tried to find at least the single color on the online website of Clinique but sadly I can't find it anymore. I hope not the do not discontinue the color because it so wearable.

So, there you go! To are to top essentials in my kikay kit. Hope you find this highly enlightening. :)

My New Fave Bag
Friday, May 6, 2011 3:27 AM
As I was spending my very fruitful time at work everyday, I am always browsing fashion websites to keep the doldrums away and getting pissed off from insanely stupid callers, i came across one bag that keeps popping in my screen. It was the Alexa Mulberry bag. The Alexa was conceived in tribute to Alexa Chung, the British broadcaster, model and fashion icon so routinely referenced in the style press that she'd be something of a meaningless cliché if she weren't quite so good at wearing clothes.

I went and bought one even if it cost a whole salary but it was worth it! The bag itself was already heavy and when I put my kikay kit inside, then we have another weightlifting bag worthy as a makeshift weapon. :) Seriously, I think I can knock a person unconscious if I hit it with my bag. I even notice some people staring at it! And you can definitely smell real authentic leather. My mom complains not to put my bag directly to the electric fan because the whole room would smell leathery. Now the question is after buying this bag, what now should be my next goal? Hmmm....

Fashion Week
Thursday, October 22, 2009 7:04 PM
I just saw one of the first real fashion show here in our country and I was blown away! I got the tickets from my dear friend Svet (sooo loving her right now). At first I was hesitant to go cause I thought that I was the only she offered the tickets to her friends who is a designer showcasing on Fashion Week. But I was suprised when one my friends texted me that all of them would be going and I'm the only not attending the show. Talk about being mortified!

My problem is that I still have work the next day and the show starts around 9:30 in the evening. And you know what my shift starts? 5:00 in the freaking early morning! Talk about grumpy morning and bloodshot eyes due to lack of sleep... hello to a zombie like existance if ever. But against rational decision making I still decided to go. I slept right away (well, technically after eating my early dinner at 3:00 in the afternoon) for two full hours and then got ready for the event.

So fast forward after the event, we are the venue and of course my cam-whore friends have started harassing the models for pictures. The celebrities included Denise Laurel ( so nice of her to be so accomodating), Sarah Meier, Yasmien Kurdi (yes, ladies and gentleladies she was there) and Bianca King (they told me was was not happy about people taking pictures of her) and among others.

The higlight of my evening was actually when Svet introduced me to one of the uber-so-cute-drop-dead gorgeous-scrape-off-the-pavement male models. OH MY FREAKING GOD HE IS HAWT! My standard has gone up again because I met him. He is so nice very, very accomadating, doesn't mind at all people taking pictures with him. Chinese cutie... hay. And we shook hands! I'm gonna faint.

I wonder what is his name. I'd better ask Svet. :)

xoxo,
pictures coming soon

Photofinish

I highly recommend this product to anyone who wear makeup on a daily basis. It really evens out and help to apply your foundation flawlessly. I even mix with it with my foundation even after applying the primer to my face.

"Create a perfect canvas for foundation application with this silky, lightweight blend of vitamins A & E, grape seed extract and green tea. Worn alone or under foundation to increase its longevity, our best-selling primer helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores for flawless skin with a velvety-smooth finish."

Its a must buy, it is even available in a small travel size. I usually buy my supply at Beauty Bar. Admittedly it is quite expensive but you'll never regret buying it once you applied it to your face.

Let's Get Physical
3:08 AM
So another day in the gym... actually I was kinda late for my gym. I arrived around one in the afternoon there cause I decided to have lunch first before heading there. I was fervently hoping to see some cutie there in the gym. I did see a couple but no celebrities. I was now really beginning to accept the fact that during Tuesday my chances of bumping into a celebrity is almost equivalent to zero. Nada.

So after a strenous activity for at least 2 hours. I decided to drop by my favorite sandwich place Subway and order another sub-of-the-day (in this case every Tuesday it's Spicy Italian... not bad) and decided to head out to Powerplant because of what happened to Greenblet 5 lately I do not want to gamble my chances and I want to experience a different place. So got a cab and head out to Powerplant. There I visited my regulars like Zara, Topshop (which by the way is on SALE!!!) and other boutiques. And finally before heading home I bought ice cream from FIC. It is always nice to see the reaction on people faces' as I strolled down along licking my ice cream. Yeah, I know its a bit nasteee. But I love it.

Now at least I know what to buy for the next pay-out and that includes a trip back here in Powerplant.
